Now we're searching for the person that God has prepared and gifted to take student and young adult ministries to the next level. We have a full-time opportunity in an exciting university town for someone to join our staff as Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries. You will be inheriting an active high school program that has set kids on fire for Christ and young adults that are ready to become more active socially and study the Word of God together. We're looking for someone with energy, drive, and an active relationship with Jesus Christ who has a heart for reaching youth and developing wholehearted followers of Jesus Christ. General Description The Youth Director position is responsible for leading an active & vibrant youth ministry involving 7th through 12th grade members, their friends, and other youth that may be reached for Christ through this program. It also involves strengthening a Young Adult Ministry of 18-35 year olds. It is a Full-Time position reporting to the lead pastor. Qualifications As a minimum, the Youth Director needs to demonstrate the following:  Deep secure and active relationship with Jesus Christ.  Ability to work with youth and young adults.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to plan, organize, lead, and guide complex projects and spontaneous activities related to youth ministries.  Competence in basic lay counseling and listening skills appropriate for youth ministry.  Willingness to work cooperatively with others, to maintain a positive outlook and disposition, and to be flexible in solving problems.  Vision, passion, energy and heart for the unchurched. Primary Duties and Responsibilities It is expected that the Youth Director will devote an average of 40-50 hours per week in preparing and leading youth group meetings, visits, and special events, to include:  Sunday morning & evening youth programs.  Tuesday evening Bible study.  Weekly Young Adult gathering.  One annual youth mission trip.  Working together with the entire Asbury staff on outreach projects and other congregation wide events. Compensation $28,000 to $38,000 annually depending on experience.
