Job Description:
Main goal: To expose the congregation to music and other artistic expressions that share biblical truths about the glory of God and the news of Jesus Christ in such a way that motivates people to join in proclaiming, rejoicing, and reflecting on God's truths and that inspires them to live a life of faith and discipleship.
Key responsibilities: Contribute a high level of musicianship (playing piano_noemailan/other instruments and/or singing) for leading rehearsals and leading/participating in Sunday morning services; occasionally play solo pieces; suggest, arrange, introduce and teach material that will bring God glory through the multicultural, multigenerational worshipers at Judson Baptist Church.
Leadership
Shepherd and oversee the Praise and Worship Team ministry
Work with other JBC leaders to integrate worship into other church ministries, weddings, funerals, etc. as requested
Pursue unity; foster a culture of accountability and dependability among team members
Develop a plan for intentional outreach to JBC youth, new members, etc.
Administration
Collaborate with Worship Coordinator to: prepare weekly order of service; schedule volunteers; establish calendars for planning and practice;_noemailmunicate with AV team; oversee budget, maintain supplies, etc.
Spiritual development
Understand and cultivate an understanding of the scriptural and theological basis of worship
Ensure that worship arts provide a strong, biblical connection to the preached word and other ministries at JBC
Encourage worship team volunteers to identify, develop and use their spiritual gifts and understand how those relate to worship disciplines
Personal
Possess, nurture and model a dynamic personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for the Lord
Demonstrate self-leadership, personal integrity and accountability
Devote time to family, prayer, Bible study, and worship
