Job Description:
Otterbein Church is looking for an experienced self-motivated leader to oversee and lead our Youth Ministry (currently 100+ students) who has a passion for helping students in grades 6-12 and their families grow spiritually and b_noemaile fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
The ideal candidate will have:
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Leadership skills with the ability to_noemailmunicate vision and direction for the church's youth ministry.
Strong_noemailmunication and teaching skills to students and adults.
A love for preteens, teenagers and their families.
A_noemailmitment to both youth evangelism and youth discipleship.
A conviction that the home is the primary discipleship center for youth and that the church's role is to partner with parents in the spiritual formation of their children.
An ability to plan, implement and evaluate age-appropriate worship, connection, growth and service experiences.
A dedication to a "Large Group/Small Group" programming model.
Experience in recruiting, developing, and overseeing adult and student volunteers.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree. A degree related to youth ministry/education (grades 6-12) is desired, but ministry experience with youth and other training will be considered in place of a degree in youth ministry/education. Applicants must have a strong understanding and knowledge of the Bible.
We desire a person with a minimum of 3 years experience in leading a youth ministry within a local church context. We will also consider persons who have experience in teaching and/or administration in education or other related professions. Applicants finishing a college degree in youth ministry will also be considered even if the minimum experience requirement is not met.
