Associate Pastor
Job Description:
We are seeking an Associate Pastor trained and experienced in preaching and teaching with demonstrated abilities in motivating, equipping, and nurturing people in their Christian faith. This person will actively participate in Sunday worship services, be a member of the pastoral care team, help build strong relationships within the congregation and with the_noemailmunity, and mentor and support members of existing ministry teams.
The person we are seeking should be an ordained Christian Minister who displays a love for the Lord and a call to the ministry, and be a biblically-based, Christ-centered person. He/she must be a strong preacher and teacher and have demonstrated experience in this area. He/she must have a caring and passionate heart that relates well to people of all ages. This person should be outgoing with strong_noemailmunication skills, be an empathetic listener and good at building relationships, be hardworking, a team player, trustworthy, and have high personal integrity. Most of all he/she should model Jesus Christ in his/her daily life. We are seeking a candidate with 5+ year’s church ministry experience with a seminary degree.
This person will report to the Senior Pastor, and will be an active member of the church staff, which includes 3 pastors (including this position), and about 10 additional staff members.
It should be noted that while connecting effectively with people of all ages is important, connecting in ways that are particularly relevant to young adults and families is an area identified by the church elders as being of strategic importance given the demographics of the congregation. As such, we are looking for this individual to work with the other pastors, staff, and lay leadership to create new programming to attract and retain individuals and families in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.
