Philosophy of Worship
We hold to the presupposition that God"s primary purpose here on this earth is His glory and thus, our primary purpose on this earth is to glorify Him. Therefore, our worship should be genuine and not fabricated. We view our worship as equally important to the preaching of God's Word. We believe that God is glorified when hearts are truly broken before God expressing a deep appreciation for God's grace in their lives.
We desire to encourage our congregation, both as individuals and as the gathered Body of Christ, to grow in having Great Commandment Hearts (love God and love People) and Great Commission Lifestyles (reach people and know God deeper.) Tethered to these biblical "greats" there is no more_noemailpelling picture of obedient, God-glorifying, holistic worship!
Also, we believe in the concept of "Worship Evangelism." That is, we believe that when God's people truly worship God in the context of relevant joyful worship, the unbeliever present is often drawn to Christ. Therefore, as stated above, we do a blended service that has a decided lean to the contemporary (80-20) without the sacrifice of content in the lyrics. When we do hymns they are often done to a new contemporary arrangement.
