Children's Ministry Coordinator Job - St Thomas United Methodist Church, Manassas, Virginia

Position: Children's Ministry Coordinator, Haymarket Campus
Hours: Quarter Time (10 hours per week)

Demonstrable Abilities: (a) Ability to Recruit, Motivate, and Train Volunteers,
(b) Organizational Skills,
(c) Previous work with children
Benefits: 1 week of leave which increases after the 1st year to 2 weeks
Reports To: Pastor – St. Thomas UMC -- Haymarket Campus
Coordinates With: Director of Children's Ministries – St. Thomas UMC – Manassas Campus

Responsibilities:
Oversee and plan the ongoing ministries for the children
Implement the weekly children's ministry including setup and teardown (currently 8:30am to late 12:30pm on Sunday)
Implement the Child Protection and Safety Policy and be familiar with all church policies pertaining to children's safety
Recruit, train, motivate, and coordinate the volunteers
Plan and lead special events: Christmas Programs, Quarterly participation by the Children in the Worship service, Vacation Bible School
Work with the Children's Ministry Director to choose curriculums for Sunday School and VBS
Attend staff meetings, training and_noemailmittee meetings as appropriate
Maintain attendance records
Submit relevant information to the_noemailmunications team (website, bulletin, newsletters)
Establish relationships with families of children by:
o Calling all first-time visitors with children to answer questions
o Calling families with children that have been absent
o Offer other support to children and families as needed
Find time to worship, pray, and study the Word to be faithful on their personal faith journey.
