Qualifications
The ideal Pastor of Outreach and Small Groups is a Holy Spirit led Christian with an exceptional understanding of the Bible. Their passion for God is evident in their personal discipleship and their desire to see others changed by Christ. This individual recognizes the local church as God's agent to reach people of all generations and backgrounds.
A self-motivated and_noemailanized team player, this Pastor knows how to encourage and inspire both the individual and group. This leader is_noemailpassionate, gracious, and giving of their time and resources. This person utilizes effective written and verbal_noemailmunication skills to build and equip healthy teams. He or she will actively mentor and teach team members with honesty and integrity. This person will intentionally focus on the growth of individuals, teams, ministries, and the church.
The ideal candidate exudes a sense of confidence in going about their daily activities. He or she is enthusiastic and exhibits a good sense of humor. The Pastor of Outreach and Small Groups is personable, approachable, humble and God-honoring in both his or her personal and professional life. A warm and authentic character is evident in their ability to lead and motivate others both in a one-on-one and group environment.
He or she is flexible and able to successfully balance the many details of the daily operations with the need for delivering on the bigger picture vision. This highly effective leader is efficient and resourceful with the ability to prioritize, manage, and execute multiple projects utilizing their personal and professional resources.
The Pastor of Outreach and Small Groups values that Christian Community Church is a stable church of over 35 years of history, yet is excited to establish new and creative ways to see our church fulfill God's purposes in central Ohio.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Pastor of Outreach and Small Groups include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. OUTREACH – Lead the church in effective and ongoing outreach
a. Motivate the congregation to participate in both local and global outreach
b. Develop a culture where church members are equipped and encouraged to reach out to others
c. Build and execute a strategy to effectively move people to the next step in their faith journey
2. SMALL GROUPS - Lead and grow the church Small Group ministry
a. Lead, teach and mentor both new and existing small group leaders
b. Integrate intentional discipleship within small groups
c. Develop a ministry to effectively engage multi-generational small groups
d. Ensure small groups are faith-based and scripturally sound
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES TO SUPPORT OUTREACH, SMALL GROUPS AND SUNDAY SERVICE:
a. Build, mentor and maintain highly effective volunteer teams
b. Teach and inspire individuals, groups and the congregation
c. Be available for and provide pastoral care
d. Oversee a high quality,_noemailanized Sunday service
Specifications
Required
Born again Christian and a member in good standing of a local church
To be in agreement with the statement of faith and the vision of CCC
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Three years of successful leadership experience
Proven, effective_noemailmunication skills
Administrative experience
Commitment to biblical standard of leadership, including tithing
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent
Preferred
Biblical studies degree or equivalent
Minimum of three years successful ministry leadership experience
Experience mentoring leaders
Experience in outreach and discipleship
Working knowledge of social_noemailworking web applications
