PURPOSE:
The Worship Pastor leads/directs the worship team and the congregation of Victory Church in worshipping God in all services. This person must be a worshipper in private as well as in public, and must have a great desire to lead the Body of Christ in praise.
EXPECTATIONS:
Passion and love for worship; call to serve in this role.
Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ evidence by action, attitude and behavior.
Ability to embrace the vision, values and statement of faith of Victory Church.
A working knowledge of music
Skilled instrumentalist (must be able to lead from guitar/piano)
Provide direction and leadership to all ministry volunteers.
Able to provide administration for the Worship Ministry, as well as being able to follow through on details.
Possess the ability to embrace innovation and creativity while adapting to growth and change.
Possess the ability to use appropriate judgement, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
Research and implement current worship music in services
Possess and develop leadership skills using a cooperative, collaborative team leadership style.
Possess strong interpersonal skills in working with team members, supervisors, and volunteers.
Faithfully tithe and support Victory Church and its ministries.
Achieve results as instructed by Senior Pastor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead/oversee all worship services and rehearsals, working with Children's and Youth Ministry and their leaders concerning worship, as well as Spanish ministry.
Plan worship sets one month in advance using Planning Center software.
Lead and/or delegate the process of Victory Church writing and performing original songs.
Begin to consider and formulate a plan for producing a Victory Church CD
Plan and implement VC's Christmas production, Glo.
Recruit, schedule, develop and mentor volunteer instrumentalists, vocalists, songwriters and emerging worship leaders.
Have working and able knowledge of loop/track software, i.e. Studio One, Ableton, etc.
Lead the formation of a worship team(s) that fosters good_noemailmunication and a strong sense of_noemailmunity among all the volunteers.
Work with Sound, Lights and Media teams to bring excellence into services
Participate in all staff meetings and retreats.
Maintain budget for music ministry
Develop an annual vision plan for the music ministry.
Serve in other areas at Victory Church as requested by leadership.
Recruit and train multi-ethnic and multi-generational worship team volunteers.
Perform other duties as directed Senior Pastor.
