Director of Worship Job - First United Methodist Church, Ormond Beach, Florida

Position Summary: 
To lead and direct First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach in creating a worship experience where folks encounter God and want more. To help us discover creative ways to share the message through the music and arts. This includes songs, specials, drama, video, stage design, graphics, and more. Our worship style at our contemporary service is influenced by the music of Jesus Culture, Bethel Music, Rend Collective and Hillsong United.

Responsibilities include:
The music and arts at the contemporary services:
build, oversee and nurture the teams for vocals, band, tech, drama and multi-media
contribute to the worship gathering by a_noemailpanying, singing, leading, etc... as required
planning, directing and coordinating the various rehearsals required for the worship gathering.
Serve as program director:
work with the Senior Pastor and Worship Planning Team with vision, brainstorming, and producing creative ideas for use in the worship gatherings and special events.
coordinate all elements contributing to the gatherings and special events.
coordinate the flow and feel of the service, including announcements, transitions, and takeaways.
supervise, direct and oversee the 11 am_noemailanist/choir director.
handle all issues related to audio, video, lighting, or music equipment, supplies, etc... including repair, purchases and budget management.

The best candidates will have:
the ability to enlist a worship team.
the ability to lead people into authentic worship.
experience with or oversight of musicians and development of the musical ability of others
knowledge of audio systems and related technical operations.
someone who can lead vocally with either an acoustic/electric guitar or keyboard.
an appreciation of the United Methodist Church and Wesleyan theology
