Family Ministries Pastor Job Posting

The Family Ministries Pastor will develop and oversee the ongoing ministry to children and families at the Olympia-Lacey Church of God. He/She must have a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus, and a passion for the lost. He/She must be dedicated to the continuous spiritual growth of those who have_noemailmitted their lives to Christ, and a concern for the needs of the congregation and the_noemailmunity. He/She will function as part of the pastoral leadership staff of the church and will assist the Senior Pastor in fulfilling the mission and vision of the church through the Family Ministries Program. He/She is expected to contribute to the team spirit of the staff through fellowship, encouragement, cooperation and prayer support, as he/she serves the Lord and the church. The Family Ministries Pastor reports directly to the Senior Pastor of the Church.

Experience:
A minimum of three years experience in Pastoral Ministries or equivalent.

Education:
An undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies/Pastoral Ministry is preferred, or the equivalent_noemailbination of related education and experience.

1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1:

Must exhibit a healthy, biblical Christian life.
Must exhibit the fruits of the Spirit as outlined in Galatians 5.
Must have a healthy personal and family life if married.
Must be a team player.
Must have experience in recruiting and equipping others to do the work of the ministry and possess a proven track record in delegation and leadership development.
Must exhibit a people-oriented, positive attitude toward life and ministry.
Must have proven administrative and_noemailanizational skills.
Must have strong interpersonal and written_noemailmunication skills.
Must be an active listener.
Must be able to handle confidential information with grace and tact.
Must present a professional image that reflects well on the reputation of the church.
Must have a proven track record of supporting and protecting leadership publicly and privately.
Must have the ability to work in a multi-task environment.
Must have experience in a ministry or field similar to Family Ministries
Must have a passion and vision for Family Ministry, and sense a clear calling from the Lord to this specific ministry
Must possess well-developed teaching skills.
Must be an active listener, adept at conflict resolution, consensus and team building.

Candidate Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively and knowledgeably about God and His Word, so as to transform, inspire, and equip children and families as they grow in their relationship with Christ and one another.
Formulate, with the leadership, a vision for Family Ministries; including Sunday Morning Christian Education (Sunday School and Jr. Church), and any mid-week ministries, and effectively engage the congregation in its fulfillment.
Develop strategies to mobilize families to reach our_noemailmunity for Christ.
Develop strategies for assimilation of new families, integrating them into active service in the body life of the church.
Recruit and train lay leadership who have a passion to assist in the development of ministry to children and families.
Identify and implement ways to assist families in their pursuit of spiritual growth and family health.
Coordinate opportunities for children and families to use their gifts to be active in service to Jesus Christ.
Develop discipleship/mentoring program to assist children and families toward Christian maturity.
Curriculum development and supply purchasing.
Inventory_noemailanization and resource management.
Integration of Family Ministries with other ministries of the Church
Regular meetings with Family Ministries teachers and volunteers.
Develop and maintain budget
Serve as an advocate for Family Ministries and Christian Education
Involved with other local pastors and congregations, so as to foster the unity of believers across denominations for building the Kingdom.
Experience in premarital/marital counseling, marriage enrichment ministry and parenting education ministry preferred
