Pastoral Ministry
The Pastor of Music and Worship will:
Use his spiritual gifts to edify and build the First Baptist Church body of believers.
Provide appropriate pastoral care to members of the church and the_noemailmunity, not limited to those who participate actively in the music ministry of the church.
Communication
The Pastor of Music and Worship will:
Provide music and worship opportunities that support and undergird the preaching and teaching of the Bible as the inspired word of God.
Utilize all available resources (for example, the Manna, bulletin inserts, monthly business meetings, appropriate_noemailmittees) to inform the church family and_noemailmunity about the music and worship ministry.
Prepare a quarterly activity report to be presented at church business meetings informing the church about worship and music ministry progress, successes, and plans.
Expectations:
The Pastor of Music and Worship will:
Be a servant leader.
Live an exemplary life of integrity, at all times modeling the call, character, and_noemailpetencies of a growing minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Promote a positive awareness of the church in the_noemailmunity.
Set the example through tithing and encouragement of Christian stewardship.
Participate in planning, conducting, and evaluating the congregational worship experience and the observance of church ordinances.
Be accessible to the congregation.
Participate in weddings, funeral services, and counseling services as requested.
Actively support and participate in the church outreach program and contacting prospects.
Consult with the pastor, relevant_noemailmittees and the church, as appropriate, on the selection of all musical staff (pianists and_noemailanists, for example) and on determining their duties, responsibilities and_noemailpensation.
Cooperate with Baptist and other religious leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern, keeping the church informed of denominational developments and opportunities to cooperatively reach others with the gospel.
Represent the church in religious and civic matters, as requested.
Consulting with the pastor beforehand, arrange for substitute leadership for worship services and rehearsals when out of town, on vacation, etc., and be responsible for Sunday soloists, guest musicians and musical programs.
Faithfully attend regularly scheduled church services and activities.
