| Job Description: |
St. Andrew United Methodist Church is seeking a full time Chritian Education Director to develop opportunities for all ages to grow in their faith. These opportunities for growth will include development of prayer groups and other small groups, as well as Bible studies, Sunday School and short term classes. He/She shall be under the supervision of the Senior Minister and shall be responsible to the Staff Parish Relations Committee.
DUTIES:
1. Find or develop curriculum for and train leaders and teachers of:
a. Sunday School
b. Youth Program
c. Confirmation Classes
d. New Member Classes
2. Develop and coordinate opportunities for individuals, families and small groups to deepen their faith. These opportunities for growth will include:
a. Prayer groups
b. Bible study classes
c. Short term classes or groups
d. On-going small groups
e. Retreats
3. Develop opportunities for children, youth and families to grow in their faith. This will include:
a. Building relationships with and among these groups
b. Providing fellowship opportunities
c. Providing mission and outreach opportunities
d. Providing educational and spiritual formation opportunities outside of Sunday School
e. Oversight of Vacation Bible School
f. Recruiting and training leaders
4. Will serve as Ex-Officio Member on the Education Outreach Ministries Committee
5. Will serve on Education Committee
6. Will take continuing education classes each year in order to continue to grow in the position.
