Children's Literacy Director (Spanish) needed to design and lead short term and long term volunteers to provide literacy opportunities to disadvantaged children in the Dominican Republic. Includes teaching reading programs in local Dominican schools, and summer reading camps. This is a great opportunity for the right person.Ideal candidate will have extensive literacy teaching experience, be creative and enthusiastic, have leadership experience, be fluent in Spanish, and be willing to relocate for five years.
Position includes room and board, great insurance, an annual trip home to the U.S. or Canada, and a monthly financial stipend. Individuals and couples welcomed, children discouraged due to limited housing, extensive workload, and limited educational opportunities.
