Job Description:
Seeking a deeply committed Christian musician and leader who is creative, playful, versatile, passionate about reaching those far from God and growing disciples, very able to recruit and empower others, and a good team player to serve as our Director of Music / Worship Leader. This person will provide musical leadership (keyboard or guitar), planning and coordination as part of a team for vocal and instrumental music, a variety of choirs and ensembles, drama, dance, multimedia and other visual arts for our traditional, blended and contemporary worship services. Experience with and appreciation for traditional as well as contemporary praise music, and liturgical as well as more free flowing and “emerging church” (ancient/future) worship forms is essential. Strong keyboard skills preferred. Duties include:
• Worship planning with other staff and team members to coordinate seasonal and themed worship experiences
• Recruiting and empowering individuals and teams, including children and youth, for ministry
• Providing for musical leadership for the three different Sunday worship celebrations and Wednesday evening praise and worship currently offered (keyboard or guitar)
• Musical direction for choirs and ensembles including evening/weekend rehearsals as needed
• Working with other musicians, accompanists and praise band as needed
• Working with existing ministry teams in drama, technical arts (video and sound), visual arts, and other worship related media to enhance worship
• Working with a team to develop additional worship experiences for outreach and deeper discipleship in our increasingly postmodern world using “emerging church” concepts and approaches, including a worship celebration with and for youth and young adults
• Coordinating special and seasonal worship services and community events
• Wedding and funeral ministry (additional compensation provided)
Competitive full time salary and benefits negotiable dependent upon experience and agreed upon position responsibilities.
