Job Description:
Director of Music Ministries Northminster Presbyterian Church has a strong music background that utilizes a broad range of musical styles in a blended worship format for people of various ethnicities and ages. We seek a director with a strong, vibrant faith centered in Christ, with the skills and abilities to lead our entire congregation in worship through music.
Duties and Responsibilities to include: Being a part of the ministry team of the church Articulating and seeing to the development of a comprehensive music ministry Rehearsing singers and instrumentalists Administering and directing the activities of our chancel choir, praise team, bell choir, and instrumentalists Providing a variety of musical styles from contemporary to traditional Implementing appropriate seasonal programs pertinent to church worship Meeting with ordained staff and Worship Ministry Team for planning of weekly worship, including long range worship planning Selecting music appropriate for theme of the day and season Attending meetings of the Worship Ministry Team and Staff Overseeing the total responsibility for all facets of the music program
Qualifications: Degree in music or commensurate experience Experience in choral directing Excellent organization and communication skills Self directed, personable and energetic Skills to motivate, celebrate, and lead others Comfortable with use of multimedia technologies
