Job Description:
Our growing seeker-targeted church needs an experienced leader who loves both far-from-God people and gifted volunteer musicians/vocalists who long to serve God.
Responsibilities include:
Lead, develop, recruit, and shepherd musicians and vocalists.
•Train, encourage, and lead a volunteer team of experienced musicians and vocalists including: coordinate volunteers, expand existing teams with experienced musicians & vocalists, develop emerging leaders, provide training opportunities, lead volunteers to grow more connected to God and each other, inspire volunteers to give God their best
Design creative, innovative ways to lead followers of Jesus and their unchurched friends into life-changing encounters with God.
•Discover and develop music for our services (creative experiences of God’s truth and grace that lead people to connect with God and worship Him in their everyday lives)
•Produce music for services including: chart vocal & band arrangements (many styles - secular music, CCM, worship songs), develop original arrangements, direct music rehearsals
We are looking for someone who
•Is a mature Christ-follower who has a teachable spirit
•Believes people matter to God and is dedicated to using God-given gifts to reach unchurched people with the love and message of Jesus
•Has experience building and growing teams of volunteer musicians & vocalists
•Is an innovative, energetic, creative leader who can work with a team to develop and implement ideas
•Sees the potential in people and loves to motivate, encourage, and empower them
•Has significant experience and proficiency in music direction
•Considers technology a friend
•Is able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, leadership-intensive environment
•Has spiritual gifts of leadership, creative communication and administration and the intangible gift of “level-3 musicians play like level-6 musicians when they are serving with this person”
