Job Description:
The following is an overview of basic ministry responsibilities. Education Ministry Cooperate with the Director of Educational Ministries in the process of recruiting workers, leaders, and teachers for the Children’s Sunday School and discipleship ministries Work with the Director of Educational Ministries to provide the very best training for our workers Work closely with the Director of Educational Ministries in the selection of all Sunday School and small group training curriculum Stay apprised of needs within the children’s educational ministry and keep the Director of Educational Ministries informed of opportunities to start new units Seek the assimilation of children into the life of our church through their enrollment in a Sunday School class Encourage the children’s Sunday School workers EVANGELISM Personally look for opportunities to share the Gospel with lost persons, especially children, inviting them to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior Innovate, plan, and execute events and programs intent upon the evangelization of children Provide regular child evangelism training programs Encourage the baptism of children who have made professions of faith Christ MINISTRY TO FAMILIES Plan and implement events and programs designed to strengthen families Provide training for parents to help equip them to evangelize and disciple their children Assist the staff team in planning events that reach out to unchurched families in our community Be available to counsel children concerning their spiritual needs Be prepared to refer children and their families to professional counselors when such needs dictate ACTIVITIES · Plan and coordinate Vacation Bible School · Plan and implement Children’s Camp · Plan and conduct other events and programs as deemed necessary · Innovate new methods of reaching out to unchurched children and their families ADMINISTRATION Supervise the Children and Families Ministry Staff Develop and administer a yearly budget TEAM RELATIONSHIP The Pastor to Children and Families functions as part of a staff team. Participate in weekly staff meeting Participate in staff retreats Participate in planned staff development activities Develop a relationship of trust with all members of the staff team Hold members of staff team accountable Remain accountable to other members of the staff team Work with members of the staff team in developing, praying, and leading the church in the pursuit of its vision
