Faith Reformed Church is seeking a fulltime Director of Music. Faith Reformed Church is located in Traverse City, Michigan on the west coast of beautiful northern Michigan. Faith Church is a multi-generational congregation who believes we need to accept people where they are and guide them into becoming Faith-ful followers of Jesus Christ. Each weekend about 1000 people gather to worship in one of five worship services at one of three worship sites. Faith Church serves the community as “one church with many locations.”
The Director of Music at Faith will play a significant role in the nurturing our congregation through the acts of Christian worship. Qualified candidates will personify a joy for the Triune God and worship music. A primary requirement is proven vocal expertise and musical skills in leading and mentoring others in contemporary music expressions, along with an appreciation of the breadth and richness of historic and global Christian music. The ideal candidate will encourage and model a creatively engaged worship culture. A Masters degree is preferred. Relational gifts are essential. Proven organizational and technical skills are not insignificant.
Along with the above he/she will give oversight to the music program with the development of artists at all sites a high priority. He/she will be a key leader in the development of worship and a key worship ministry team member. We believe that music is a powerful ingredient in drawing pre-Christians to Christ. The Director of Music will also be a worship leader at one worship site each weekend.
Other administrative duties will include:
+ Scheduling and supervising worship leaders at all sites.
+ Facilitation of worship leader training events.
+ Work with the Senior Pastor and the Director of Worship to develop creative worship service orders at all sites.
+ Assist the Director of Worship with special events/concerts
+ Oversee and supervise the Faith Worship Choir and the Praise Kids
The Director Music will report directly to the Senior Pastor.
