Love of Christ Lutheran Church in Mesa, Arizona seeks a Contemporary Worship Leader.
Worship Leading in a praise band format (vocals and guitar/or vocals/keyboard), this musician would be in charge of both the 9am contemporary service (which includes upbeat/contemporary liturgy) as well as the Youth Service on Sunday evenings.
Responsibilites include preparing songs for the worship bands and leading all aspects of the music-making process in these rehearsals and services.
This is a leadership role, yet we are looking for someone who can be a team player, follow suggestions and visions of fellow leaders, and help continue to pursue the vision of the ever-changing Church ministries. (Prima Donna's need not apply.)
Other duties include:
Meet weekly with fellow staff members and senior pastor to plan and organize weekend worship.
Choose special performance numbers pertinent to the weekly themes that are recognizable to the congregation and heard on Christian radio.
QUALIFICATIONS
. A strong relationship with Christ our Savior, and a desire to lead people to Him through the gift of music
. Experience leading worship in a contemporary setting.
. Formal training or a degree in music is preferred but not required.
. Excellent organizational, communication, and recruiting skills.
. A commitment to team ministry.
. Knowledge of Contemporary/Modern/Emergent Worship and Music
