Solemn Appointment
Position: Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries
Job Objectives: Bring young people to Christ, build them up to Christian maturity, train them in ministry, then send them out on their life’s mission all for the glory of God. Lead the youth and young adult ministries.
Working to increase the number and spiritual depth of active youth participating regularly in the youth program, attendance at Sunday worship, and awareness of the church’s profile in the youth community of El Paso.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministry or experience in the field of Youth Ministry or a combination of both education and experience in the field of youth ministry. Highly energized, must be fueled by faith in Jesus Christ, and have a calling to share this love of Jesus with youth. Must be open to the power of the Holy Spirit and evangelize with young people in the Jr. High and Sr. High age group.
Qualifications: Lutheran background with an emphasis on youth ministry or a combination of education and experience in youth ministry. Be diligent in personal devotions and prayers. Be fully committed to the basic beliefs, vision, and core values of CrossPoint. Have heart and passion for loving people, especially young people and leading them to Jesus.

Youth Director Responsibilities and Tasks:
1. Develop a comprehensive ministry program for Jr. High, Sr. High, College/Career and singles.
Evangelism:
a. Moving unchurched youth from the community to membership in the church.
b. Plan and execute outreach activities to the parents of youth wo do not attend Crosspoint church
c. Community outreach activities that will demonstrate CrossPoint as the youth community center of east El Paso.
d. Establish a regular and effective presence in the community (i.e. having leaders at local schools, skate parks, popular hang out spots, on a regular basis)
e. Tracking of active and inactive youth and develop a follow up plan.
f. To develop a youth ministry brochure and other public relation ideas to share the ministry with east El Paso.
g. Follow up of young people who attend week-end services.
2. Develop an effective program to develop a partnership between the parents and the Youth Ministry.
Parent Partnership:
a. Communication with the parents of the Youth
b. Recruit, train, encourage and support lay people in various volunteer ministries that are working with you.
3. Develop a dynamic youth discipleship program, which will develop a faith community within the youth ministry and move our youth from the community to the congregation.
