Director of Youth Ministry

Job description

The Director of Youth Ministries will give leadership to Christian youth ministry for 6th-12th grade youth at Community Congregational Church in Elburn, IL
.
A. SUNDAY MORNING PROGRAM

1. Organize separate classes for Middle School and High School.
2. Work with Sunday School Director and select curriculum.

B. SPECIAL EVENTS IN YOUTH MINISTRY - plan and coordinate the following:
1. Annual Retreats - Middle School and High School separately and occasionally together.
2. Summer program activities.
3. Youth service projects - local church and beyond.
4. Involvement in Association and Conference events.
5. Other outings Confirmation Class - assist as needed.

C. STAFF MEETINGS
Meet as requested with the church staff at the direction of the Senior Pastor.

D. ACCOUNTABILITY
This position is accountable to the Pastor and the Pastor Parish Relations Committee.

E. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A love for Christ and for young people.
2. Strong positive experience in the church.
3. A bachelor ‘s degree or working on such in an appropriate area of human services.
4. Training and/or experience in youth ministry.

Wages and Benefits
1. Employment is part-time.
2. Wages will be negotiated as determined when hired and reviewed annually.
