Director of Music Position
Grace Community Church of Raleigh, North Carolina is searching for a full time (minimum of 30 hours per week) Director of Music. This position is responsible for overseeing all of the music and arts ministries of the church and for directing the creative elements of weekly worship under the guidance of the Senior Teaching Pastor. An applicant should have a minimum of 5 years experience in a church environment and will be required to lead a band at least two weekends each month. Grace is an interdenominational church. This position is responsible for overseeing all of the music and arts ministries of the church and for directing the creative elements of weekly worship under the guidance of the Senior Teaching Pastor. The primary focus of the position is to identify and organize the existing musical community in new ways that will create a structure for people and ministries to flourish. This includes identifying clear values, boundaries and goals for all groups. This position will manage and organize lay leaders in order to develop programs that provide musical/artistic outlets for a diverse community. In addition, the individual in this position will be expected to lead one of the weekend musical groups. This position reports to Jeff Hancock.
Specific responsibilities:
Select, organize and schedule music and other elements for weekly worship including service order, testimonies, dramas, readings etc. Provide direct or indirect leadership for musical groups who are scheduled to participate in worship Oversee the budget for worship and art ministries Maintain and order supplies for worship and other musical groups Participate in weekly worship planning meetings Maintain all musical equipment including piano tuning Oversee through Jeff Cash the sound and technology system and volunteers Supervise and provide direction for Heather Hancock & Jeff Cash Participate in weekly worship planning and staff meetings
