Church and Youth ministry background: A Chinese church with about 90 adults, 50 youths and 30 children, a bible base church with contemporary style worship. A healthy church focuses on small group fellowship, evangelizing, mission and individual walk with God. A vibrant church has a lot of young people and new converts, and our motto is “win souls and make disciples”. Two years ago, we moved to our new church facility, a commercial building right by a very busy street at the heart of San Gabriel Valley. There are tens thousands of Chinese families live within three miles radius from our church. Our youth/English group consists of few college students, some middle school students and a lot of high students. There are around thirty youths attending Sunday worship and about forty youth come in for weekly Friday night’s youth fellowship. This is an exciting youth/English group with great potentials; leaders are in place, musical talents fill the worship band, and majority of them have their personal daily devotion. Purpose: To direct the spiritual life and growth of our youth and English speaking college students. The youth pastor will work 20 hours per week under the supervision of the senior pastor to provide an effective and comprehensive ministry to church youth people that they might experience God, know Jesus Christ, follow the Spirit and love others. The Ideal Candidate Would Bring: Leadership and Interpersonal Skills – do others like to follow you? Understand the group dynamics and possess a good ability to listen and discern. Educational Achievement – a degree is not required, but desirable Computer Skills – Word, e-mail, web browsing, PowerPoint, photoshop… Administrative Skills – event and task-oriented, disciplined, organized, clear communicator. Spiritual Vitality – love for God, have a passion for worship and a vibrant prayer life. And willing to become a member of our church.
