Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY Direct a program and ministry for all youth from 6th grade - 12th grade. Plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive program including a budget for youth ministry. Invite, equip, and encourage volunteers to facilitate youth programs. Support the integration of youth within the overall ministry of the church by connecting to our community, UM district and conference activities. Attend Staff, Church Council, Youth Council, District Youth Professionals meetings,and periodic staff events. Contribute in creating attractive and quality print and video communications pieces for youth programs and events as well as update website info.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Experience with a church based youth groups and a proven track record. Christian background and spiritually mature. Ability to attract, engage & communicate with young people, their parents and volunteer leaders.
ABILITIES REQUIRED Visionary leader, engaging, self-directed, risk taker, dynamic and energetic. Ability to ‘keep up' with the youth. Excellent interpersonal skills with youth and adults. Flexible and excellent time management skills. The ability of think creatively outside of the box. Excellent administrative and strategic planning skills. Experience with or willing to learn budgeting and expense reports. Team builder and team player being able to lead both youth and volunteers and foster relationships. Demonstrates leadership, discernment. Provide healthy behavioral boundaries. Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point& publication software. Spiritually mature to lead and engage youth in Bible study and understanding Biblical concepts. Personal integrity and character. We are looking for someone on fire, contagious, that will make this a place of introduction to Christ for new believers or unbelievers. Someone who will provide fellowship opportunities for seekers and those who want deeper relationship with Christ. Able to present the gospel.
GOALS Substantially increase the number of youth attending the program. Develop a vibrant youth program and involve youth in all areas of the Christian walk (outreach, spiritual disciplines, evangelism, worship, fellowship...).
