Student Minister
Christ's Church in Jacksonville, Florida is an independent Christian Church of nearly 3,000 in average weekly attendance. Seeking a Student Minister to lead our efforts to reach youth in grades 5-12, and lead a team consisting of a middle school student minister and an administrative assistant.
This person must possess:
a passion for reaching youth currently not involved in church
a love for volunteers and the ability to build teams
a heart for serving that leads youth in reaching out to others
a desire to see every student connect, grow, and serve
Requirements:
Minimum of four years experience on staff in student ministry at a church larger than 1,000 total attendance
Degree in student ministry and/or Biblical studies
Key Responsibilities:
Church Leadership
o This role is a part of the church management team, consisting of all four department leaders, lead pastor, and executive pastor
o Be on the creative team for sermon/service development
o Consistently promote the mission of the church as a whole
Connect
o Develop environments for youth to connect to God and each other
o Develop outreach events that draw un-churched youth into the ministry
o Implement a purposeful strategy to follow up with all guests
o Create...by example...a culture that welcomes and engages all youth
Grow
o Create overall discipleship strategy for youth grades 5-12
o Develop and promote camps/trips such as CIY, Believe, summer camps, mission trips, etc
Serve
o Develop and promote opportunities for students to serve in the local church, local community, and global community
Volunteers
o Create strategy to recruit, develop, and appreciate volunteers
o Consistently cast vision to and encourage all volunteers
o Develop key Ministry Leaders to "own" ministry areas
Salary Package:
Salary negotiable based on experience
Benefits include full health care for family, matching retirement, paid vacation, and ministry leave for mission trips or other ministry related days away
Limited reimbursement for moving expenses
