Job Description:
The person selected for this position will be responsible for the overall management of the Empowerment Temple A.M.E. church Media Department. Duties include maintaining the production and broadcast facility located at the church's sanctuary in Baltimore city. Managing the multi-media components for the ministry during all services originating out of the Empowerment Temple on Sunday, Tuesday and during special services and events. Editing the weekly video announcements on the church's Final Cut Pro editing system in addition to shooting intros and outros (on-camera stand ups) with the Pastor for the Empowerment Temple broadcast. The candidate must be proficient in television production to include working with handheld camcorders and studio cameras, lighting and audio in a studio and in field production. This candidate will also have to manage the team of volunteers that work in the Media Ministry during all of the church's events. Managing includes maintaining a professional working environment where you can teach the volunteers and mentor to the younger members of the congregation who show a desired interest to work in the Media Ministry.
All persons selected for potential employment will be required to submit a reel of their own work. This body of work shall include both editing on a non-linear editing system and examples of their abilities to work with video cameras in electronic field production (EFP). Finally, all applicants who make it down to the end of the selection process will be given scripts and video to use in producing promotional segments that will air during the church services. This final assessment will help the church find the most qualified person to fill the position as the Empowerment Temple's next Media Director.
Additional Requirements: A 4-year degree in broadcast media. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Apple Final Cut Studio, Skype, and any other software needed to effectively and efficiently carry out the duties of the position.
