The Church of Christ in St. Joseph, IL is seeking a full-time Worship Minister to lead our ministry team in St. Joseph, IL. St. Joseph is a young and growing community just outside Champaign-Urbana in Central Illinois. We are looking for a dynamic and energetic leader with lots of passion to help us reach our fast-growing community. Skills and Qualities
The successful worship minister has a combination of creative skills and organizational qualities. A strong vocalist with excellent musical ability and a broad appreciation for and knowledge of music, the worship minister is comfortable working independently and as part of a team and can effectively lead a worship band and congregational music. At the same time, the creative qualities must be balanced with some organizational skills and attention to detail. Leveraging the resources of the team, the worship minister will see to all the details of an effective worship service.
The worship minister should be confident and self-motivated and possess excellent time management skills.
Requirements
- A lifestyle that reflects a passionate relationship with Jesus
- A passion for worship ministry and the arts
- Commitment to participating as a team member in leading the church in meeting its vision to reach our community through worship, music and the arts
- Experience leading a contemporary worship band
- Experience planning culturally relevant and effective worship experiences
- Evidence of broad musical knowledge
- Ability to interact with others with flexibility and tact
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A solid understanding of technology related to worship design, including sound, lighting, and stage design
