Job Description:
We are prayerfully seeking the man that God would call to shepherd our congregation. We feel His leading to seek an ordained pastor who preaches from the Bible, leads us in understanding and applying God's word, will join us in doing God's work in our_noemailmunity and enjoys working with all ages. Our pastor should be personable, honorable, spiritual, energetic, wise and passionate.
Supervision: The Pastor serves with the supervision of the Elder Board.
Responsibilities: The following constitute the major responsibilities of the Pastor:
Worship
*To regularly preach and teach the Word of God from the Bible.
Submit to the Holy Spirit's leading in bringing sermons and ensuring
that all worship services are worthy of the Master.
*Administer baptism through immersion.
*To plan and lead worship service in conjunction with the Board of
Elders and the Music Pastor
*To work with the Music Pastor to develop and maintain a music
program for all ages and to integrate music into worship.
*Lead the congregation in observing the Lords Supper no less than
once per quarter.
Administration
*To assist in all areas of the congregation's ministry in
consultation with the board of Elders, other appropriate boards,
and_noemailmittees.
*Attend scheduled Elder meetings.
*Serves as Overseer/Administrator of paid church staff supervising
and evaluating the tasks assigned to each.
Stewardship and Outreach
*Leads the congregation in effective programs to fulfill the Great
Commission with vision, purpose and priority.
*Gives full support biblically to the budget of the church. Promote,
educate and advocate responsible biblical stewardship in the
congregation.
Other Pastoral Responsibilities
*Pray for Legacy Church and provide a prayerful vision.
*Communicate with the congregation through articles or
announcements, written and spoken using church website, bulletins
and worship services.
*Provide pastoral care through prayer and as his time permits,
visitation.
*Oversees, along with Elders, all church discipline matters and the
management of conflict issues in the church.
*Works with Church officers, Elders and other key leadership to carry
out the mission and purpose of the Church.
*Adheres to the Church Bylaws and Policies and Procedures adopted
by the church.
*Maintains a vital and wholesome personal relationship with the Lord
through daily Bible study and prayer.
*Maintains proper priorities at home with his wife and children.
Note: The above duties are not intended to be an all-inclusive list nor
a list with sole responsibility. Our ministry at Legacy Church is a team
ministry. We are small but mighty. Therefore, delegation is expected
and additional duties may be assigned from time to time as
emergencies and other situations dictate.
