Oakland Presbyterian Church is a growing, multi-generational congregation_noemailmitted to worship and service. We are located in the Cleveland Community of Johnston County, 3 miles from I-40. In our 150-year history, we have been a congregation that seeks God's presence through worship, prayer, and study of His Word. We seek a Worship Leader who will strengthen our music program by drawing from our hymned tradition, while also incorporating contemporary worship music and instrumentation to craft a powerful modern worship service.
Oakland Presbyterian Church is seeking a Worship Leader to first and foremost lead the church into worship, where doubters and disciples might experience the presence of God and understand the Gospel of Jesus. You will do so by orchestrating our music programs with excellence, energy, enthusiasm, and faith. Therefore, Oakland's Worship Leader must be passionate about using music to introduce people to Jesus and help them grow in faith.
We're looking for someone who loves bringing the rich theological depth of hymns into the modern world through contemporary instruments and arrangements. We're looking for someone who loves Jesus and loves good, skillfully played music. We're looking for someone to use great songs from a variety of traditions to teach people the faith and inspire them to believe it.
The Worship Leader reports directly to the Pastor and directs the Choir and all musicians. The position requires 6-10 hours a week. Salary will be determined based on experience, starting minimum of $600 a month.
