Job Description:
Central Christian Church, in the heart of Silicon Valley,CA, a strong, multi-generational, contemporary church of about 450 Sunday attendance, is looking for a strong follower of Jesus who is godly, creative, devoted to children's spiritual, emotional, and mental growth to become their next Director of Children and Family Ministries. Everything we do at Central is based on our commitment to help others to connect with Jesus, grow in faith, serve others, and share the good news. We have a special passion for the next generation of Christians and their parents, and are open to new ways to reach and serve this generation.

Qualities and Requirements
Clear, observable commitment to Jesus Christ

Personal ministry calling, skills, and teachable spirit which fit closely with ministry description and expectations
Thorough understanding of child development, family culture and systems
Mature understanding of God's Word
Committed to evangelism and faith formation of children and adults
Professional work ethic and positive attitude
Positive, encouraging, and constructive communicator with children, teachers, families, congregation and church leaders
Strong teacher and ability to help others teach to various learning styles
Strong skills to recruit, train, support, evaluate, and affirm others to teach children and families
Lead from an authentic, growing faith in Jesus Christ
Program planning and implementation experience and skills
Manage programs, teams, and budgets with ability to delegate initiatives and empower volunteers to service
Knowledgeable of best parenting practices with maturity and credibility to teach them
Knowledgeable of best curricula and other resources including resource persons
Good decision making, counseling and referral skills
Commitment to professional growth and continuing education in the field
Connect with other children and family ministry leaders for support and stimulation
Bachelors' degree, preferably in children and/or family ministry or related field

Tasks and Innovations
Work with a team of volunteers to create a compelling and comprehensive vision for Children and Family Ministries which will honor God's desire for families in Silicon Valley and integrate fully with Central's The LIFE Path. Lead and implement this vision into reality.
Oversee programs for all children from birth through 5th grade.
Innovate and implement Sunday opportunities for children to learn and grow in faith.
Innovate and implement midweek opportunities for children to learn, grow in faith, and enjoy being a part of the community of faith
Implement a midweek outreach program that will effectively reach children and their families for Christ–and oversee their faith development
