Director of Youth Ministry (K-5) in Winston-Salem, NC - North Carolina

Friedberg Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, NC is currently seeking a Director of Children's Ministry. The purpose of the Children's Ministry position is to seek out children ages K-5th grade and help them grow towards becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Credentials:
Bachelor's degree plus five years experience leading a children's ministry program. A combination of education and experience may be substituted when skills are demonstrated.
Qualifications:
Agreement with our church's mission statement, Ground of the Unity (doctrinal statement of the Moravian Church) and the Moravian Covenant for Christian Living.
A strong and visible walk with God through a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Has a passion for children's ministry.
Understands and relates to children's culture today.
Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as technical skills in a technology driven world.
Ability to function and work autonomously with little direction, self directed and willing to learn.
Team player with effective relational skills.
Valid NC driver's license.
Satisfactory completion of background checks and drug screening through the Provincial office of the Moravian Church, Southern Province.
Responsibilities:
Set and oversee the vision of the children's ministry with a concrete plan, Develop and lead programs according to the vision and purpose of the children's ministry, Provide pastoral care to Children K-5 in the congregation in consultation with the pastors, Recruit, train and supervise adult volunteers to help them provide successful ministries for our children, Build and maintain quality relationships with parents, Network with leaders of other children's ministries in the Moravian Church and community, Financial responsibilities, Involvement in Laurel Ridge Camp and Conference Center, Abide by and ensure volunteer compliance with the Friedberg Child Protection Policy, Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Associate Pastor, Board of Elders or Christian Education Board.
