I attended Patentia Secondary School in Guyana from which I graduated in June, 1966. After a brief stint as an unqualified Assistant Teacher, I entered the Government Training College in Georgetown Guyana in 1969 graduating in 1971 with the Class1 Grade1 Teachers Certificate.
I resumed teaching this time as a Qualified Assistant, and was appointed to act as Headmaster in a rural school in 1972. I was admitted to the University of Guyana in 1975. After four years of study and one year of compulsory national service, I graduated in 1980 with B.A. English (major); History (minor). I have since done courses and attended workshops in Remedial Teaching, Management and Ministry.
