Grace Christian Fellowship (GCF) is an Evangelical and diverse community of believers situated in Central New York’s doorway to the beautiful Finger Lake Region. GCF is the former Homer Baptist Church that was founded in 1801 and continues to bring a strong Gospel witness to the region. Contemporary worship, relevant biblical preaching & teaching, impacting children, and teen discipleship and people committed to doing the ministry are all core values.Grace Christian Fellowship was built with the calling to be a Christian resource to this region. It has already hosted ministry events, major concerts and community outreach. Currently, GCF is in a stirring transformational season as it better defines who we are and how we do ministry.
We are now strategically situated between Cortland and Homer in our new 48,000 sq.ft. Ministry center. The new home was occupied in 2005 and comprises an 850 seat worship center and a super sized narthex for fellowship and inter-personal ministry. The new GCF facility houses a full-size gymnasium, multiple classrooms for children and adults, teen center, first class kitchen, offices and more on 20 acres of land.
Currently, weekly attendance exceeds 500 adults, 120 children, 75 teens and has the place and potential in the Cortland community to reach even more. The ministry staff is made up of a Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor, Youth Director and Children’s Director. All aspects of the worship ministry are led by a team of three part-time staffers. A support staff is made up of two fulltime secretaries and a building manager with his many volunteers.
We are looking for a self-motivated spiritually mature man of God to join our staff as Associate Pastor. This man must be passionate about his relationship with the Lord, demonstrate and articulate a clear faith in and knowledge of the bible, and live in accordance with all biblical principles. He must possess a vibrant faith in Christ that he exemplifies and leads others to grow into authentic disciples. We are looking for a leader to continue to develop and oversee our:
Servant-evangelism programs within the community,
Adult small groups and leadership training
Contact and connection of new believers within the body, and
Discipleship Training
Other responsibilities include areas of administration, preaching and teaching assignments as needed, counseling, and weddings and funerals.
Our mission at GCF is to vitally connect people with Jesus Christ and help them grow into passionate and devoted followers of Jesus. With this in mind, we are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal relationship skills, and has an enthusiastic desire to create opportunities to share Jesus with the lost. This man should also be an excellent communicator who can work as part of a team.
