The Director of Youth Ministries' primary responsibility is to develop and implement a youth ministry that encourages, instructs, and trains the youth to understand and implement the Word of God in their lives, especially as it relates to: Worship, Service, Outreach, Christian Growth, and Family. Directly accountable to the Christian Education Committee. Work in cooperation with the Pastor in the ministry of the church for regular, special, and holiday services.Qualifications

Candidates for this position must have relevant experience in youth ministry and some formal training, or working towards an education in youth ministry.
Areas of Responsibility
Provide students with events that allow for fellowship, evangelism, discipleship, worship and mission.
Assist in church worship services, as needed.
Foster networking among local churches and youth workers.
Recruit, organize, supervise and train volunteers
Plan activities for the youth, ranging from middle school to high school age, including Sunday school youth class. This could include concerts, retreats, camp, or other special activities, with approval from the Christian Education Committee and the Pastor.
The Director of Youth Ministries should have the ability to lead youth to a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
To get to know and establish a positive relationship with each young person in the congregation.
To provide a weekly youth service that is worshipful, fun, relevant, and effective in instructing, training, nurturing, and launching youth into Christian service.
To attend weekly staff meetings endeavoring to work closely with other staff members to coordinate the youth activities, calendar, and vision with all other areas of church life.
To raise up effective mentors for youth and from the youth.
To coordinate youth-oriented retreats, outings and summer camp activities.
To design and encourage opportunities to serve across the street as well as across the world.
Responsible to attend regular Christian Education Committee meetings, and provide monthly written reports to committee.
Additional duties as required.
Estimated Weekly Time Requirements: 10-20 hours per week which includes Sunday services, Sunday school, staff meetings, youth meetings and youth events.
