YOUTH OUTREACH COORDINATOR (YOUTH PASTOR)

The Presbyterian Church of Fremont is seeking a Youth Outreach Coordinator. This newly created position involves the fostering of participation and growth of middle school and high school ministries, creating a welcoming climate that builds community, providing leadership for the planning and implementation of youth programs and activities, and mentoring spiritual growth.
We are looking for interested candidates who are spiritually centered, can take initiative and work independently, can build relationships and are an effective communicator.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment. This responsibility involves the promotion of participation and growth of middle school and high school ministries for members and non members. Specific responsibilities include:
• Contacting youth members who have become or are becoming inactive in
the church.
• Designing and implementing outreach connection opportunities for both
church members and non members, such as sporting events, school
activities, and other activities.
• Encouraging and mentoring youth members and their parents to connect
with friends and family for an invitation to participate.
• Creating and distributing presentation materials (newsletters,
brochures, blogs, etc.) to promote interest and participation in youth
programs.
2. Building Relationships. This responsibility involves the creation of a safe and welcome environment that encourages youth fellowship, spiritual growth, and faith sharing. Specific responsibilities include:
• Being a role model and mentor for youth and parents.
• Meeting with youth for encouragement and prayer.
• Communicating regularly with parents.
• Following up in a timely manner with absentee kids.
• Assisting with conflict resolution.
• Recruiting, training and motivating volunteers to assist with
relationship development and activity planning.
• Fostering a productive working relationship with church staff and
volunteers.
3. Initiating and Cultivating Theological and Spiritual Growth. This responsibility involves the planning, direction and leadership of all youth programs and activities that foster Christian growth, service, education and fellowship. Specific responsibilities include:
• Planning, organizing and leading youth based activities and programs.
• Innovating age specific programs to assist youth with life transitions.
• Planning and distributing major events calendar on an annual basis.
• Planning and coordinating mission trips and fund raising activities.
• Maintaining attendance records, mailing lists, youth directories, and
all other necessary paperwork.
