The Technical Director recruits, trains and leads volunteers in their technical gifting in all facets of the Technical Ministry. Volunteers are responsible for media and technical needs for all worship services and events including First Alliance worship center & café worship services, Celebrate Recovery, and the Punta Gorda satellite campus. These volunteers are trained by the Technical Director to mix sound, do lighting, operate video cameras, edit videos, mix live IMAG and streaming video feed, create sermon outlines for data projection, create and sequence song text for data projection, and operate computers during worship.
The Technical Director collaborates with the Worship Pastor concerning:
- Thematic stage sets
- Monthly Worship Planning Team meeting
- Worship and Technical Ministry direction and needs
- Audio/visual equipment maintenance
- Purchasing of new equipment as needed
- Video production
- Creative input for worship ministries and current trends in church media
Qualifications, competency and experience in:
- Dynamic Christian leadership, training and scheduling of technical volunteers
- Joyful cooperation with creative team of pastors and ministry leaders at First Alliance
- Professional completion of time-sensitive tasks related to weekly events and services
- Live sound mixing, staging and lighting
- Non-linear video editing, HD camera operation
- Computer based broadcast mixing systems
- Projection software and IMAG
- Worship planning software
- Streaming video, podcasting
- Technical equipment problem solving
The Technical Director creates a volunteer schedule on a quarterly basis. Volunteers serve an average of once or twice each month, occasionally more often if they desire.
The Technical Director will recruit and train volunteers quarterly in accordance with the growth and expansion of the technical needs at First Alliance.
The Technical Director maintains the streaming video simulcast for the Punta Gorda campus. This includes archiving streamed worship services and making them available on the FAC website. This task is currently being developed. The Punta Gorda campus was launched on January 4, 2009.
