Job Description:
Minister of Childhood Education, FBC- Canyon is a church in the bedroom community of Amarillo, Texas with 3 worship services on Sunday a.m. and 2 Sunday Schools. We are an old church with a 120 year history, and a Sunday morning worship of around 600 with 135 on average in Children's Sunday School (birth - 6th). As the Minister of Childhood Education you would be responsible for all aspects of children's ministry (birth - 6th) with the help of a part-time Pre-school Minister whom you would oversee. Currently we are utilizing Children's Sunday School and worship (Powerhouse & 252) and AWANAS on Wednesday nights that runs around 125 kids. As the Minister of Childhood Education you would have the liberty to evaluate and change facets of the ministry and curriculum. You would also work in a team format with the Youth Minister and the Marriage and Family Minister to better reach our community and disciple families.
In the area of experience and education we are remaining open to the leading of the Holy Spirit and therefore we are not closing any doors based on this requirement alone though we would like to see a solid foundation of either experience or education with an element of the other facet evident on your resume. We would very much desire to know that you have a true calling to children’s ministry and our church along with the personality and general makeup to be a good “fit” for our team and church.
