Job Description:
Organist/Choir Director
Job Start – date negotiable, not later than Sept., 2008
Salary - Choir Director: $7,200 annually (8-10 hours/week)
- Organist $8,000
Job runs: Choir Director: annually September through mid-June
Organist - year round
Choir Director Responsibilities include:
Thursday night choir rehearsal (7:30 – 9:00 PM)
Sunday morning worship service (11:00 – Noon)
Occasional services that don’t fall on a Sunday (ex: Ash Wednesday)
Annual local choir festival (usually on a Sunday evening in spring)
Coordinating music with the Pastor and organist (we have a beautiful pipe organ)
Potential for small Children’s Choir (not currently in existence)
Familiarity with various styles of church music, liturgy is important
Organist Responsibilities include:
Accompanying choir at rehearsals and Sunday morning services
Other responsibilities same time commitment as the choir director
Approximately 20-voice adult choir – small but powerful
Our church is known for its music program
We are willing to split the job and hire two individuals (what we have now) or potentially combine them.
