Job Description -a passion to see students (junior high, high school and college) become committed followers of Christ and a vision to equip them to grow in God -a commitment to providing resources through healthy connections and relationships with parents within the church -a commitment to developing new leaders and leading existing leaders -a pastoral and servant's heart to provide leadership for the vision and direction of student ministries in the life of the church -to provide pastoral care for those involved in student ministries -to be responsible for the development and coordination of student ministries, including but not limited to: a weekly youth service, student Life Groups, developing and leading short term missions trips, developing ministry teams, planning and prep of youth retreats and conferences -supervision and development of pastoral interns in Junior High, High School & Young Adults -recruit, train and oversee leaders and volunteers for student ministries providing direction, coaching and leadership -a commitment to excellence in every aspect of student ministries -work in conjunction with the pastoral team to integrate student ministries into the overall life and vision of the church -align student ministries with the church's vision and mission statement -full time position and a member of the pastoral team who reports to the Senior Pastor
Qualifications -an encourager, equipper, team builder with the ability to recruit, develop, and coach team members to reach their full potential in Christ -demonstrates Godly character, filled with the Holy Spirit and is a passionate and committed follower of Jesus Christ -a sense of urgency for those that need Jesus and a passion to mobilize students to reach their world with the Hope of Christ -clear call from God to serve as a student ministries pastor -a solid understanding of youth and student ministry -a heart for God, for people and for students -pastor's heart and servant's heart for the church congregation as a whole -relational person with strong interpersonal skills -a leader, a teachable spirit, a creative thinker, a team player -proven track record of leadership skills, motivating, developing and empowering others -an ability to effectively communicate and interact with youth both one on one and in a group -a team player and builder working alongside others, developing and mentoring them -ability to recognize, develop and coach leadership in young people to fulfill potential -relevant with contemporary student youth culture -a flexible, creative problem solver with the ability to leap tall buildings with a single bound!
Training, Experience and Accountability: -Bible College, University or equivalent training -Experience both as a youth leader and as a team leader -Be in full agreement with the vision, values and strategy of Calvary Christian Church
