| Job Description: |
First United Methodist Church of Palatine is seeking a full time staff member to lead our growing Children's Ministry Program. The primary duties of the Director are to nurture the faith development of children from birth to 6th grade through educational, fellowship and spiritual growth programs and activities as well as administrative duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*The ideal candidate should have a personal faith in Jesus Christ and be committed to Christ as Savior and Lord.
*This person will have a passion for children's Christian education and a commitment to working with lay volunteers.
*This person will have the necessary skills to recruit, train and support teachers for the children's ministry activities.
*This person should be an organized and visionary individual who loves children, has experience working with children and has experience working in church settings.
*A degree in Education and/or Christian Education is preferred.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLILITIES:
*Responsible for all church-sponsored children's programs for ages birth through 6th grade.
*Provide direction to the Children's Ministries Team.
*Responsible for maintaining accurate records of attendance, volunteer hours and other records as needed.
*Administrate and Maintain the Reducing the Risk Program.
*Responsible for doing or delegating- Offering and Budget, Curriculum, Volunteer Recruitment and Training, Publicity, Early Childhood Program, etc.
