| Job Description: |
Plan and lead lively and meaningful, contemporary-style worship service to be launched early in 2009.
Duties and Responsibilities
oWork collectively with the Music Director, Pastors, church staff and musicians to plan and coordinate music and worship for a new Sunday morning Contemporary Worship Celebration (CWC).
oSelect and teach music for weekly CWC, and lead weekly rehearsal of Praise Team.
oProvide guidance and assistance as needed for Altar’d youth praise worship.
oRecruit and select band members for adult Praise Team.
oVocally lead congregation in singing, prayer and praise.
oProvide lyrics and other worship content to Media Coordinator for projection.
oWork cooperatively with media and sound technicians to assure the highest quality visual and audio experience.
oEvaluate and maintain instruments and sound equipment, and make recommendations regarding needs for new or different equipment as appropriate.
*Enthusiastically share the Good News of the Gospel.
Qualifications and Required Skills
oThorough knowledge and familiarity of contemporary worship music, as well as the styles and purpose of praise worship.
oExperience and ability to assemble and lead a praise team of musicians.
oSuperior vocal and speaking abilities; and a gracious spirit to lead people in prayer and praise.
oProficiency in playing guitar or keyboards is a preferred skill, though optional.
