Adult Discipleship Coordinator Job - Floris UMC, Herndon, Virginia

Answering questions and resolving problems for Discipleship leaders;_noemailmunicating, scheduling, and providing logistical support for weekly small group meetings; maintaining and distributing discipleship curricula; maintaining data on discipleship small groups, their leaders, and their members; advertising discipleship activities to parishioners; and maintaining an operational budget.

Following the guidance of the Director of Grow, works with discipleship small group leaders and the discipleship leadership team directly to ensure they receive appropriate development and training to manage discipleship so that parishioners grow their faith through participation in small group bible studies; ensures the growth of Floris UMC membership by developing new opportunities for spiritual growth via traditional and non-traditional learning opportunities. Researches new curricula; provides necessary support to leaders and leadership opportunities throughout Floris UMC so that adult members can grow together to meet Floris' vision and mission.

Following the guidance of the Director of Grow, ensures the viability of the Floris UMC Adult Discipleship program by continually promoting current groups and programs; developing new groups and new leaders; researching new curricula; and attending conferences or speaking with other churches about their discipleship experiences.

Qualifications:

BA or equivalent.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in directing a large program area that required using a diverse set of administrative skills to manage a large and expanding Adult Discipleship program.

Knowledge of theory and techniques required to manage and maintain a vital Adult Discipleship in a large church.

Knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production.

Ability to use imagination to develop new insights into situations and applies innovative solutions to problems; designs new methods where established methods and procedures are inapplicable or are unavailable.

Ability to_noemailanize work, set priorities, determine resource requirements.

Ability to determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them and to coordinate with other_noemailanizations or parts of the_noemailanization; monitors progress, evaluates ou_noemailes.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
