Job Description
Job Title: Director of Children's and Youth Ministry (DCYM)
Reports To: Pastor
Status: Part-Time (30 hours/week)
SUMMARY
The Fuquay-Varina Presbyterian Church is seeking a Director of Children's and Youth Ministry (DCYM) to direct and develop our children and youth ministries. This is a 30-hour per week position and includes working with the Pastor(s) and the Christian Education Committee, to plan, facilitate and evaluate the ministry programs for K-5th grades, middle school and high school youth. The DCYM will also be an important resource for adult ministries in conjunction with the pastors. The ultimate goal of our Christian Education program is to provide spiritual development opportunities through fellowship, worship, mission work and bible studies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plan and implement activities of the middle school/ high school age youth Plan and implement activities of the K-5th grade youth to include
Create and oversee various outreach events such as lock-ins, game nights, concerts, camp, etc.
Work with Sunday School superintendant on Sunday School curriculum and programming.
Reach out to inactive youth, and follow up on those who drop out of the group.
Evaluate the need for new, innovative programs, initiating new areas of ministry as needed.
Encourage,_noemailmunicate with, and provide resources to the parents of our children and teens.
QUALIFICATIONS - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual must also be_noemailmitted to the Presbyterian Reformed tradition with a good theological background.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Mature Christian Educator with an interest in ministry to youth, and helping youth grow deeper in their walk with Jesus Christ. Previous experience in youth ministry is desirable. Must have a degree in education, theology or child psychology. Coursework in fields such as religion, child psychology, family studies and_noemailmunication is desirable.
