Job Description:
Summary of Position: Cornerstone is seeking to fill either on contract basis or through part-time or full-time employment, the Accounting function at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. The Accounting function maintains financial accountability in accordance with accounting standards for non-profit_noemailanizations, works closely with other accounting and ministry staff, and keeps the Executive Director of Business Administration updated and informed.
This person should lead by example, and cultivate a positive spirit throughout the church family. They should represent Christ and His church well in the_noemailmunity at large. They should be a team player and follow the biblical model of sacrifice by being willing to put the needs of others in front of their own. In all of their actions, they should be positive and supportive of the Core Values and the Vision of our church.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting, 3 years accounting experience in an equivalent role, demonstrate non-profit accounting understanding, and experience with Shelby Financials accounting software.
Responsibilities: As with any position at Cornerstone, being employed with a church means that each employee is part of the team that pulls together during crisis times, special events, and when visible projects need to be done. Duties and responsibilities for this job could change at any time, and flexibility is a must.
Offering responsibilities include:
o Contribution/Offering breakdown, counting, and posting
o Online giving reconciliation and posting
o Process year-end giving statements
o Update congregant records in church database
Accounting responsibilities include:
o Maintaining bank accounts including transfers and reconciliations
o Make regular and miscellaneous deposits
o Reconcile ministry event in/out "roll-over" accounts
o Make regular and adjusting journal entries
o Compile and enter the annual budget into the accounting system
o Recruit, train, and coordinate accounting volunteers
o Assist with researching and implementing purchasing/requisitions process and practices
Financial analysis and reporting responsibilities include:
o Track i_noemaile and spending to assist with managing cash flow requirements
o Prepare monthly financial reports which include but are not limited to i_noemaile statement, balance sheet, ministry roll-over accounts, cash flow
