SEABROOK PROTESTANT PASTORAL ASSOCIATE
JOB DESCRIPTION
Status: Exempt (Salaried)/Part-time 30 hours per week
Compensation: $31,000-$36,000
Reports directly to: David Bowman, Pastoral Ministries Manager
Department: Resident Life
Job Requirements:
Education: College degree; seminary training and Masters of Divinity degree; ordained or eligible for ordination in a major Protestant denomination.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills; solid pastoral and_noemailanizational skills;_noemailpetent worship leader and planner; strong_noemailmunication skills (written and oral);_noemailputer literate; demonstrated theological sensitivity.
Experience: Pastoral ministry experience with high r_noemailmendations; some Clinical Pastoral experience preferred; experience in ministering to seniors a plus.
Specific Responsibilities
The Protestant pastoral associate serves the Protestant residents of Seabrook(and sometimes staff) by leading worship, administering sacraments, preaching and teaching on a regular basis and through physical presence. This includes serving residents in both independent neighborhoods and those residing at Renaissance Gardens.
Lead a weekly Sunday service and a weekly Vespers service. Offer a monthly Communion service at Renaissance Gardens.
Provide pastoral care to residents in times of illness, bereavement, or difficulty. Time permitting; this would include visits to hospitals etc.
Develop and coordinate programs with the Protestant Council, such as Scripture study or other offerings for spiritual growth. Pastoral Associate will attend monthly Protestant Council Meetings.
Participate as an active team member of the Pastoral Ministries Staff under the supervision of the Pastoral Ministries Manager. This includes Attending weekly meetings with the Pastoral Ministries staff.
Assess, with the Pastoral Ministries Manager, the quality of life in the Protestant faith_noemailmunity to determine the short and long term direction of the ministry program.
Cooperatively work in both an interfaith environment and with a Protestant faith_noemailmunity that is diverse and non-denominational in character.
Coordinate Memorial Services at Seabrook for Protestant Residents at the Request of Families.
