Job Description:
The Worship Team Lead serves Jesus Christ and his church by facilitating Christ-centered worship and partnering to lead the church in its mission to share hope in Jesus Christ. The position works jointly with the Team Leads for Community, Outreach and Operations as part of the senior leadership of the church.
Responsibilities:
Designs and executes worship services that draw the congregation into an expression of joy.
Leads visibly in the worship life of the church, releasing the gifts of the congregation and equipping its members for worship.
Inspires and aligns the leadership of staff, elders and lay leaders in the worship mission of UPC.
Leads and supports Worship Team staff, including Choral Director, Organist, Associate Director and support staff; encourages continual staff development, both in Worship Department and as a member of the senior leadership team.
Listens to Session, congregation, staff and_noemailmunity and encourages input, taking the leadership role in spiritual formation through worship and music.
Integrates effective worship across the sub_noemailmunities of the church and throughout the week.
Partners with others to build teams of musicians, artists and liturgists.
Champions and supports spiritual formation, life-changing_noemailmunity and lay leadership.
Participates in strategic ministry planning.
Stewards the budget and worship resources.
Qualifications/skills and knowledge requirements:
A strong, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
A mature Christian_noemailmitted to the ministry and mission of University Presbyterian Church.
Understanding of and_noemailmitment to the mission of the Worship Department at UPC.
Proven leadership skills and an ability to think strategically.
Demonstrated ability to consult with and advise others
Demonstrated ability to participate as a team member
Bachelors Degree (advanced degree preferred)

Worship leadership experience (large church preferred)
Ability to effectively lead_noemailanizational change
Demonstrated_noemailpetence in reformed and evangelical theology
