QUALIFICATIONS: 1. The Director of Student & Youth Adult Ministry shall be experienced in student and young adult ministry,be_noemailmitted to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the authority of Scripture, and the uniqueness and missional nature of Christ's Church,possess the administrative,_noemailanizational and_noemailmunication skills necessary to perform his or her duties and carry out details, as well as the interpersonal, relational skills for working with young people and adults within the church and the_noemailmunity. 2. Feel called to ministry with middle school/high school students and young adults. 3. Possesses an understanding of and appreciation for Reformed theology. 4. Relates well to young people (perceptive and responsive to their needs) and their parents/guardians. 5. Four-year college degree is preferable with additional training in Biblical studies or youth ministry. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT 1. Possess a biblical philosophy and model for ministry with middle school, high school students and young adults. 2. Conduct weekly meetings of middle school and senior high school, and young adult fellowship groups that include Christ centered teaching, worship, fellowship, outreach and service oriented activities. 3. Incorporate and integrate student/young adult ministry into the church body. 4. Fully_noemailply with First Presbyterian Church' Child & Youth Protection Policy. 5. Engage and invite new students and young adults to Sunday worship and to regularly planned student and young adult activities. DEVELOPMENT OF LAY LEADERSHIP 1. Coordinate and recruit lay leadership to be involved in and lead in all aspects of the ministry. PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT 1. Seek out the necessary resources and training to remain current in areas that impact student and young adult ministry. 2. Work with lay leadership in planning and facilitating weekly programs. 3. Assist in the coordination of special events, retreats, camps, and mission trips. MINISTRY WITH FAMILIES 1. Develop strategies to partner with parents in ministry. 6. Coordinate with the Director of Children's Ministries in planning transition activities for i_noemailing middle school students. SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES 1. Assumes a growing, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and regular prayer life. 2. Have spiritual accountability to a mentor, pastor or individual. 3. Be involved in regular worship and fellowship with the body of Christ at First Presbyterian Church. 5. Must be open to constructive supervision & teachable spirit. 6. Effective time management between students and personal life.
