Student Ministry Pastor / Team Leader
Job Description:
Coming to CrossWalk on Sundays, you will meet a stream of smiling faces and friendly handshakes as you make your way into refurbished_noemailmercial space. Picking up a cup of coffee from a teen worker behind the café counter you navigate through the bustle of kids, teens, and adults connecting prior to service. From the time you pull into the parking lot, congregate in the café, or are engaged in the worship center, there is little to remind you of "traditional" church.
Started four years ago by a group of diverse personalities drawn together by the desire to do church in a way that reaches the non-churched, CrossWalk has grown from a portable church at the local YMCA to contemplating the next step forward as we outgrow our present facility.
We are a church that desires to reach the next generation, with significant emphasis on children and youth, conscious of creating a safe environment where those that don't know Jesus can_noemaile to a place of "loving God, loving others, and serving the World." CrossWalk works to engage youth through-out the various functions of the church, believing that this process disciples and provides youth the opportunity to learn their gifting and to serve meaningfully.
We are a volunteer-driven church. Leadership, ministry, and initiative originate from multiple teams functioning under a biblical eldership model.
Because of the significant growth in our established youth ministry, the needs of providing leadership have moved beyond our volunteer resources. We are placing a call for a student ministry team leader to work alongside of our lead teaching pastor in serving the ministries of CrossWalk.
For someone passionate about the spiritual needs of youth, this is an opportunity to provide leadership and continue to develop a crucial ministry in a unique church culture. This person will be a leader that can motivate adult volunteers to connect with and serve youth by modeling their walk with Christ. This person will be an engaging teacher that is_noemailfortable developing lessons to_noemailmunicate the truth of Scripture in a relevant manner and in empowering other team leaders in the teaching process. The successful candidate will model the process of developing disciple-based relationships with youth. The gift of encouragement expressed in all relationships will be a key characteristic. The qualified person will exhibit maturity and character qualities consistent with that of an elder.
