Job Summary
St. Christopher's Episcopal Church seeks a spiritually mature, and enthusiastic lay person to fill the newly created position of Director of Youth Ministry. This paid position on the church staff will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing a dynamic, sustainable youth ministry program for middle and high school youth (grades 6-12). The Director of Youth Ministry reports directly to the Associate Rector and works collaboratively with the staff and clergy of St. Christopher's, youth and their families and adult lay volunteer ministers.
The role of the Director of Youth Ministry is to help youth build_noemailmunity among themselves while encouraging them in their spiritual growth and life journey. Core hours of work include Sunday mornings, St. Christopher's youth activities scheduled on weekday evenings, Saturdays, or Sunday afternoon/evenings. The Director of Youth Ministry will also maintain a schedule of regular office hours and attend staff meetings. The Director of Youth Ministry's weekly office hours will be agreed upon with the Associate Rector.
The role of the Director of Youth Ministries is to nurture the spiritual growth and development of the youth of St. Christopher's by employing a theology and practices consistent with the beliefs and traditions of the Episcopal Church. The Director of Youth Ministry promotes youth visibility and involvement and ministry within the life of the congregation and greater_noemailmunity.

Education
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred
Bachelor's or advanced degree in youth ministry, theological education, psychology,_noemailmunication, or divinity.

Received or confirmed in the Episcopal Church.
Experience leading and implementing a parish youth ministry program.
