Job Description:

Chapelwood United Methodist Church is seeking to hire a strongly motivated and dedicated professional to serve as a full-time Communications Associate. The person in this position is primarily responsible for generating, editing and disseminating written material for the purposes of promoting Chapelwood and Chapelwood events through a variety of media outlets. These include but are not limited to internal Chapelwood publications, Chapelwood-produced electronic media including e-mail, Web sites and video productions as well as external media outlets such as area newspapers, radio and television stations.

The applicant should possess the following skills:

Ability to:_noemailmunicate effectively, both orally and in writing; make presentations to large and small groups; work effectively with a variety of individuals and groups; work independently; use a personal_noemailputer and standard software applications; and learn and use programming languages such as HTML.
Knowledge of: principles and practices of marketing, graphic design, and establishing brands; media production,_noemailmunication, and dissemination techniques via written, oral, and visual media; principles and practices of public relations; English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax. Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and ProPresenter is a plus.
